Wrapping up Summer with Fall Layers

Summer is winding down, which also means we're entering that in-between time where layers are essential to maintaining your sanity. One second it's cold, the next it's hot, and then it's cold again. Oh, the struggle. Which is why easy to grab and throw on layers are your best friend. We've been loving ponchos, kimonos, and scarves all summer long. Here's how to keep wearing them through fall and winter.

1. Kimonos
A fun alternative to cardigans and jackets, I love the drapey-ness of kimonos. Keep your layers underneath slimmer and let the flowiness of the kimono give shape to your look. Skinny jeans, leggings, a graphic t-shirt or tank, are all great options for pairing with this layering favorite.
I can't be the only who wakes up some days (ok, A LOT of days) and says to myself, "I just want to wear my robe today." Well friends, meet the socially-acceptable-to-wear-in-public "robe", the sweater kimono. Adorable, cozy, warm, and comfortable, it's everything you've been dreaming of wearing.
2. Ponchos
Comfortable and easy, ponchos have been our sophisticated go-to layer all summer long. A fun swimsuit cover up or a sophisticated top for date night, ponchos are the ultimate throw it on and go piece.
Knit ponchos are life changing, and I don't say that lightly. Am I wearing a bra underneath? Who knows. Am I wearing what I wore to bed underneath it? Maybe. Did I wake up late with no time to get ready and the kids can't be late to school again? Probably, but I bet you can't tell. Again, a socially acceptable way to wear a blanket and look totally chic. Sign me up.
3. Shawl Scarf
Wrap it around yourself, tie it like a scarf, drape it over your shoulders, with so many ways to wear it the shawl scarf is bound to be a winter accessory favorite. Add color, dimension, and warmth all in one.
Cozy, on-trend, and easy to wear, it's hard not to fall in love with these versatile accessories!
