Holy smokes. I was blown away reading all of the amazing nominations for the Come Together Getaway Giveaway. With over 500 entries of love, strength, empowerment and positivity it was so hard to pick a winner. To every person out there that shared a beautiful story about their mom, sister, aunt, best friend, etc… I truly believe that goodness is going to back to both you and your nominee and that you are all #winning in life.
Officially though, we are only able to pick one winner. So..... drum roll!! Here's the winning nomination:
The little one is my daughter and the beautiful woman holding her is her birth mom, Bailey. Bailey not only made me a mother, she changed me! She altered the way I approach life and all its beauty and hardships. I witnessed her have courage in the middle of severe heartache and allow the love for her baby come before herself. She is brave and loving and selfless. I want to be better in every area of life because of her. All the gifts in the world could not repay her for what she has done for me, but when I saw this I knew I had to nominate her. And when I saw the two brunch tickets for mother's day my eyes welled up with tears. Together we are mothers, just in very different ways. How amazing to spend mother's day with the one I owe it all to.
Now, this story by itself is so heartwarming, but once I learned about the woman who submitted the nomination.... waterworks. She is quite the inspiration herself and her story is kind of unbelievable.
Sarah Nitta became a contestant on Season 11 of “The Biggest Loser” with the goal of being healthier and becoming a mother. She lost weight and ended the show in a better place, but becoming pregnant still proved to be very difficult. Fertility and IVF treatments ended in disappointment. She and her husband decided to take a break from fertility treatments and to pursue adoption instead. Bailey found them, and it was an instant match. A few weeks later, Sarah was surprised to find out that she was also pregnant.
"Bailey chose us when she was only 16 weeks along. Three weeks or so after she chose us, I found out I was pregnant! We had experienced years of loss, a couple failed IVF cycles, and the chance of conceiving was slim to none. But it happened. I was so scared to tell her that I was pregnant because I was afraid she'd choose someone else. I waited until I was 16 weeks pregnant to tell her and when I finally did, the first thing out of her mouth was "Oh my gosh, she's gonna have a sibling!!!" The greatest gift these two have been given is each other."
We are so excited to have these two special women join us.. we are especially excited since they'll be able to celebrate mother's day TOGETHER.
