Any stylist or fashion blogger will tell you that they key to a really put together look is LAYERING. Of course, in the summer, layers are a little more difficult to pull off because you want to stay cool!! That's why the kimono is my favorite summer layering piece... it's easy, lightweight, and is a fuss-free style enhancer!

While kimonos are easy layering pieces, there are still things to consider when adding layers to any look! So, here are a couple of styling suggestions to wearing layers in the summer heat.
Laid-back Cover-up

Find a suit that is a little laid back.... a nice high-waisted bikini bottom does the trick. A little pop of color keeps the look fun too. And your kimono will work as a great cover-up. Try tying your look together with colors that compliment each other.... but avoid being too matchy matchy!
Fun and Easy

A little cut-off denim short (I can't get enough of distressed denim right now) and a sandal with a low heel give this casual style the right balance of ease and effort. A fun candy colored tassel necklace give a playful feel to this cute summer look.
Just a Little Dressed Up

When dressing up a kimono, keep lengths in mind. Tying a little knot in the hemline of your dress will allow you to adjust your dress length and keep your look easy. Wearing flat sandals will add another touch of summer ease.
