Is anyone else freaking out a little bit about the fact that Thanksgiving is next week? You guys! Where did this year go? So before the season could completely slip away from us, we invited a few friends to come celebrate an early Thanksgiving (or Friendsgiving) with us to express how thankful we are for them.

It's always fun to have crazy talented friends (like Alix, of A RUFFLED LIFE) because they so graciously help you create beautiful tablescapes like this one. Here are a few of the details from our celebration, as well as a few tips for how to have your own lovely Thanksgiving.

Personal details:

There's nothing like personalized touches to make something feel special. Name place cards are a quick and easy way to show guests you put thought into your Thanksgiving table. Our friend, Melissa Esplin, did the beautiful calligraphy on these place cards, however, you can create ones just as special using a variety of techniques.

Another personalized touch is a small gift for each guest. We love our Tribe Bracelets -- pick a unique message for each friend or family member.

Sweet surprises:

There are some Thanksgiving traditions that are just, well, traditions and we look forward to them every year. But don't be afraid to mix it up a little bit. It's ok to branch out from the usual and try something different. These delicious macarons barely made it through the photoshoot as we couldn't stop sneaking them. Traditional Thanksgiving treat? Nope. But they just might become one at my house...

Enjoy your company:

With how busy this time of year gets, it's easy to get swept up into the rush of it all. But it's important not to forget the real meaning behind the season. Whether you're spending Thanksgiving with family or friends, a large gathering or just a few; whether you've got a fancy dinner planned or will be eating off paper plates, there's a lot to be thankful for. If the napkins don't match the tablecloth perfectly or your centerpiece isn't Martha Stewart worthy, you are not alone sister. And that's ok!

A Special thank you to A Ruffled Life for designing this beautiful thanksgiving tablescape for us; Tai Pan trading for providing many of the decor elements; and Blonde who bakes for the delicious desserts.
