Fall Favorites: The Open Front Cardigan

Fall is easily my favorite season for clothing!  I think it's mostly because fall is the perfect weather for layering.  Layering pieces creates a look that is interesting and looks expensive.  The open cardigan is definitely at the top of my layering list for fall.  I find myself reaching for them multiple times a week and using them in so many different ways! Here are some ways I love to layer the classic open front cardigan.

Transition Summer Items Into Fall

The open cardigan is the easiest thing to throw on over summer tank tops and summer dresses.  They give just the right amount of warmth for those chilly beginning-of-autumn nights.

Casual Jeans and T-Shirt

The open cardigan looks rockin' with leggings or casual jeans, a simple T-shirt, and trendy sneakers.  Layering a cardigan over such casual items keeps the look casual but makes everything look the right amount of pulled together.

The open front cardigan is so easy to add to any outfit.  It looks fabulous over a trendy pair of boyfriend jeans, a graphic T-shirt, and fun fall accessories.  Add a fun necklace and a fall hat and you are ready for all of your autumn adventures.

Probably the easiest way to wear an open cardigan is to layer it over a neutral top like a white T  ans a long layered necklace.  This season we will be seeing lots of fun ways to layer necklaces such as adding chokers to longer pieces.  This up and coming necklace trend is PERFECT to add on to this simple outfit recipe.

Open cardigans are not just mean to be worn with pants.  They can also easily be layered over dresses and skirts.  My favorite combination is over a pencil skirt paired with fall booties.
