If you are chilly, here, take my sweater! Better yet, climb in with me because there is room and it will be cozy! Oversized sweaters have made my December dreamy. Let me share with you the reasons why you need one in your closet.
I have to admit, when I first thought about getting an oversized sweater I was a little nervous. I thought it would make me feel frumpy and sloppy. You see them everywhere these days; on fashion bloggers, in stores, and everyone else looks so cute with them on. I've been holding off for a long time but once I got one, my life changed! You can avoid feeling sloppy if you style it correctly.
Three ways rock an oversized sweater:
- Stay sleek on the bottom. Don't wear loose pants with your oversized sweater. Keep it sleek; your favorite jeggings, ripped jeans, or leggings will do the trick.
- Layer. If your sweater shows more neck than you'd like for the cold weather, layer something fun underneath. Try a lace undershirt or even a collared button-up blouse.
- Get it super-sized. It's called an oversized sweater for a reason. Don't be scared to go up a size.
- Keep it simple. Try to stay away from busy patterns or prints. Neutral colors are easier to work with.
I'm loving this sweater because of the cute tie-up detail on the back.Maybe you'll want to try one that opens in the front like this chunky knit cardigan or this kimono sweater. There are many types and varieties. You can get a cableknit, sheer, loose bottom, tight bottom, turtleneck, off-the shoulder, vneck, etc. Heck, maybe you'll want to try all of them?
I love sweaters because they literally are so comfortable! No need to suck in that holiday tummy (I'm speaking for myself), just exhale and relax. If you add a sweater to your closet you will be warm all winter long.
I encourage you to try one out and see if you love the comfort as much as I do. You can't go wrong when you throw it on with a pair of leggings, booties, and a top bun!
Until next time,
