Bold and Full: Margaret Thatcher

We're excited for today's BOLD AND FULL feature to be Margaret Thatcher (13 October 1925 – 8 April 2013), a British politician.

Margaret Thatcher, known as “The Iron Lady”, was born on October 13, 1925 as Margaret Hilda Roberts in Lincolnshire, England. At a young age she displayed her desire to learn and was a symbolic figure to those around her.

The Iron Lady was smart, influential, dedicated and powerful. Being a woman never deterred Margaret from anything; she OWNED IT and was proud of her gender. “Power is like being a lady…if you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.”

Originally Margaret studied Chemistry and worked as a research chemist. However, she was drawn to politics and later began a career in law. She was a pioneer in women's politics and was elected the first woman Prime Minister in the United Kingdom in 1979.

Margaret died on April 8, 2013. She was fearless and made positive changes for those she served. Through example to women, entrepreneurs, creatives and risk takers-alike, Margaret has served as an example with goals and CLARITY that you can change the world. “If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.”

Like Margaret, stand up as a strong woman and OWN what you have to offer.
